Composition & Applications
Comprised of 18% chromium, 8% nickel, and limited amounts of manganese and carbon tent, 304 stainless steel is recognized for its expectational rust and corrosion resistance. It's chromium content forms a passive oxide layer on the surface, protected it from corrosion in various environments.
Due to its excellent corrosion resistance and non-reactive nature, 304 stainless steel is commonly used in the food, pharmaceutical, and medical industries, where cleanliness and hygiene are essential.
SSL Industries utilizes 304 stainless steel in a variety of gauges in the fabrication of our products, typically up to 0.25" in thickness.
